Teaching and Research Assistant
RA (one semester): Developed a rapid-prototyping lab for a new Innovative Design PhD program.
Researched, selected and purchased 50K in prototyping materials.
RA (two semesters): Conducted college-wide research on how students use student services. Ran 30 focus groups, transcribed and analyzed results and created 100-page report that was distributed to administration and faculty posing recommendations for how to improve communication between students and Iowa State.
TA (1 year) Co-created an educational outreach program called “FLEx”. Designed and constructed a mobile trailer capable of educating entire schools and groups on design, creative thinking process and prototyping.
TA (1 year) Assistant for an undergraduate studio class. Helped students with daily tasks and critiqued work.
Graduate and Professional Student Senate, Iowa State University 2013 – 2014
Presented plans for a student run bike share system program designed by my undergraduate department. After a near unanimous decision from both levels of student government my department was awarded 30k for a series of 3 classes to design the product and system. The bike system that was developed is currently being implemented at Iowa State. .
